Bundt cake/Gugelhupf

With this sweet bundt-shaped bread you will be able to show off your culinary skills to your family and friends. This mouth watering can be served for breakfast or with the afternoon tea.

Ingredients


sugar
2 tbs
fresh yeast
20 g
white wheat flour
600 g
salt
1 tsp
milk
300 ml
butter
50 g
grated lemon zest
1 pcs
rum
2 tsp
raisins
100 g
egg yolks
2 pcs

For the coating:
confectioner's sugar
1 tbs

Preparation

  1. Pile the flour in a large bowl and make a well on top. Crumble the yeast into the well. Add salt, sugar and lukewarm milk. Knead and cover with a cotton towel. Let it rise for approximately 30 minutes.
  2. Whisk together the melted butter, egg yolks, grated lemon zest and rum. Add into the large bowl.
  3. Knead, cover it with a cotton towel and let rise for approximately 45-60 minutes. When the dough has risen, add raisins and knead again.
  4. Place the dough into a greased round mould, cover it with a cotton towel and let it rise again for approximately 45-60 minutes.
  5. After baking, allow to stand for 10 minutes. Sprinkle with confectioner's sugar.
