For two decades and a half European Union used an energy label scale, featuring A+++ through G labelling, to deliver a more informed purchase information about the efficiency of electrical and electronic devices. With time, this old system had become difficult to understand, since just about any new appliance got one of the A plus something ranking.

Now there is a new labelling system in place. The simplified yet way stricter scale A-G scale is much clearer for the customers, as it excludes the classes with the “+” sign/s. When introduced, very few products were initially able to achieve the “A” rating, leaving space for more efficient products to be included in the future.

The future has arrived

Our technical experts took it as a special challenge and set a goal for most washing machines to already achieve the new Ecolabel “A” rating. This is how they did it.

“The heart of every new Gorenje WaveActive washing machine is built on the inverter motor called PowerDrive. This quiet and very efficient motor is designed to ensure a long life of your washing machine, saving energy with each cycle”, explained the main product manager at Gorenje, and added: “The introduction of inverter motors instead of universal ones has enabled us to move from energy classes D and C to energy classes B and A by achieving the same price and longer appliance life. Today most of our washers feature the Ecolabel A rating which is a fantastic achievement as the industry analysts predicted it would take manufacturers several years to get (t)here.”

Maximum effectiveness

The new washing machines also feature several new sensors which allow the washers a better reading of the conditions inside of them. Paired with advanced new algorithms the new WaveActive washers are more accurate when it comes to the detection of the amount of laundry in the drum, delivering up to 30 % lower water and energy consumption annually. So, make no mistake, the savings will clearly be visible on the electricity bills and in your wallet.

And it all happens automatically, without user intervention. As soon as the washer is loaded up with laundry, the technological brain takes over and takes care of the adjustment of the washing time on all programs.

The water dosing algorithm is also multi-level, hence it adjusts the amount of water according to the type and amount of laundry. This way the machine delivers better results when washing laundry while it has another side benefit. More precise water dosage allows for a more even distribution of the laundry in the drum, which improves the spin cycle too.

It’s all about the user experience

Gorenje’s experts are all about ensuring optimum washing results, yet they have you in mind all the time. Bringing the perfect user experience to life also meant that something had to be done about the noise the washer makes during operation. Even if there is no A rating for the noise home appliances make, our technical team challenged itself on that front too. By using the inverter motor the washing machine is significantly quieter during all washing cycles and all the aforementioned smart technologies also make sure there is less noise in the final (and fastest) spin cycle too, delivering a simply better user experience.
