The perfect choice of dessert when you want to make a good impression. And you don’t even have to tell anyone how simple these tarts really are to make. Your secret’s safe with us.
Ingredients
- 300 g flour
- 200 g butter
- 100 g sugar
- 8 apples
- 200 ml caramel syrup
- 1 tsp cinnamon
Method
Add flour, butter and sugar to a food processor and mix thoroughly. Shape the dough into a ball, cover with cling film and refrigerate for an hour. While the dough is resting, slice apples into thin slices, put them in a bowl and pour hot water over them to soften them. Let them sit in the water for 5 minutes and strain.
Roll the dough and shape into a pie baking pan. Prick the bottom of the pan with a fork and blind bake at 175 °C for 20 minutes. Remove from oven and spread some caramel on the bottom of the pies. Now comes the fun part: place the apple slices inside the pie to shape them into a rose. Cover with the remaining caramel, sprinkle with cinnamon and bake for 25 more minutes at 175 °C.
